Summary:
Annabel Green had everything, or so it seemed. She was the girl in the Kopf's Department Store ad. She and her best friend Sophie get invited to all the best parties, have all the best clothes and seem to have the best of everything. But something happens at one of those parties, and suddenly Annabel has nothing. Her friends, particularly Sophie, have deserted and her reputation is in the toilet. And it's not like her sisters are there for her; Kristen is busy in New York City and Whitney is busy battling anorexia and has become shut off. When school starts, she's alone. During lunch, she sits with outcast Owen Armstrong who sits and listens to his iPod, never lies and is dealing with his anger management. Owen helps Annabel come to terms with what happened at that party, overcome her fear of honesty and shed her belief that the image she portrays is the most important thing.

Characters:

Annabel Green
is a gorgeous model, just like her two older sisters. Her image is really important to her, and when it is ruined by her best friend Sophie, her world comes crashing down. Throughout the book, she learns to be honest about what happened and to listen to what her heart is telling her.

Owen Armstrong punched another student, then calmly walked away. Afterwards, he got anger management help and now tells everything just like it is, unlike Annabel. He is never without his iPod and doesn't seem to need anything from anyone. However, he helps Annabel realize that she needs to be true to herself and come to terms with what has happened to her.

Kristen and Whitney Green are Annabel's sisters. They are both models pushed by their mother, like Annabel. Kristen lives in New York City and is making a life out of modeling. Whitney moved in with Kristen, and developed an eating disorder, causing a huge twist in Annabel's life. Together, her sisters help Annabel help herself.
